The Smart Tourism Development Conference and Smart Tourism Demonstration Exhibition were held in Nanjing, capital city of Jiangsu province, on Nov 23. Under the theme "Smart Tourism: New Era, New Dynamics, New Supply", the conference aimed to accelerate the development of smart tourism characterized by digitization, networking and intelligence. The event focused on propelling innovation and improvement in tourism formats, service methods, consumption patterns and management tools. It sought to cultivate the emergence of new products, spaces, scenes and entities within the realm of smart tourism. Co-hosted by the Resource Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the conference featured the release of the "2023 National Smart Tourism Development Report" and the first batch of "5G + Smart Tourism" application pilot projects. Officials from the Suzhou Municipal Government and other relevant authorities shared their experiences in smart tourism practices. During the conference, sessions were organized around topics such as "New Projects and Scenes for Immersive Experiences in Smart Tourism", "New Services in Smart Tourism", and "Smart Tourism Big Data Platform". These sessions facilitated discussions and connections regarding the new supply and demand in smart tourism. The conference drew active participation from representatives of cultural and tourism administrative departments across the country, as well as key players in technology enterprises, tourism companies and officials from industry associations like the China Tourism Association. The event was designed to stimulate collaboration and the exchange of ideas, marking a significant step toward ushering in a transformative era in the landscape of smart tourism in China. |
